Assessment

Your orthotist performs a full biomechanical assessment and gait analysis, examining your posture, joint range of motion, and the way you walk. Getting fitted for orthotics starts here.

Analysis

The orthotist will analyse the data along with findings from their physical assessment.

Design

If appropriate, we design custom orthotics to meet your exact requirements using the data from your assessment.

3D Print

Your orthotics will be 3D printed to 0.1mm accuracy, with state of the art printing technology.

Fitting

After around two to three weeks, you will return to the clinic and your new orthotics will be ready.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is caused by excessive tensile load on the plantar fascia, typically driven by overpronation or poor foot mechanics. Custom insoles with a medial heel wedge slow the rate of pronation, reducing strain on the fascia with every step. An effective private plantar fasciitis treatment without the NHS wait.

Heel pain/spurs

Heel spurs and chronic heel pain result from repeated impact and soft tissue inflammation at the calcaneus, often worsened by inadequate shock absorption. Custom insoles with a deep heel cup and targeted offloading cutout beneath the spur can relieve direct pressure at the painful site whilst improving overall heel alignment. Achilles tendonitis is commonly driven by tightness in the calf muscles, which increases the load on the tendon during walking and running. Our orthotist assesses calf flexibility as part of a full biomechanical assessment and can advise on a targeted stretching programme alongside a custom insole with a heel raise to reduce the demand on the tendon whilst flexibility improves. Our orthotist performs a thorough biomechanical assessment to establish whether your pain is linked to poor lower limb alignment, a leg length discrepancy, or abnormal loading patterns through the pelvis and spine. Where a mechanical cause is identified, custom insoles with corrective posting or a calibrated heel raise can reduce spinal stress significantly — treating the cause rather than managing the symptom.

Leg length discrepancy is often subtle and goes undiagnosed, yet even a small difference can cause chronic pain in the foot, knee, hip, or lower back over time. An accurate assessment by our orthotist is essential — measuring both true and functional leg length to establish whether an insole heel raise is appropriate and, critically, how much correction is needed. Getting this right requires clinical judgement, not guesswork, and our orthotist has the experience to prescribe precisely.

You then walk across a Footscan pressure plate, which captures the precise distribution of force through your foot in real time. The orthotist analyses both sets of data together and gives you a clear picture of how your mechanics are contributing to your symptoms.
